February 9, 2018:  Congress passed and the President signed, a six-week spending bill to fund the government through March 23. This continuing resolution was paired with a two-year budget deal that will raise spending caps on defense and non-defense discretionary program for 2018 and 2019 by $290 billion. The budget deal also suspends the debt ceiling through March 1, 2019. The package also includes a four-year extension funding the Children’s Health Insurance Program.
